Foley Hoag Partner Martin F. Murphy Admitted to American College of Trial Lawyers

Foley Hoag LLP congratulates Martin F. Murphy for becoming a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, one of the premier legal associations in America.
The College held its induction ceremony before more than 600 individuals at its recent Annual Meeting. Founded in 1950, the College is comprised of the best of the trial bar from the United States and Canada. Fellowship is extended by invitation only and only after careful investigation to experienced trial lawyers who have mastered the art of advocacy and whose professional careers have been marked by the highest standards of ethical conduct, professionalism, civility and collegiality. Lawyers must have a minimum of 15 years of trial experience before they can be considered for Fellowship.
Membership in the College cannot exceed one per cent of the total lawyer population of any state or province. There are currently approximately 5,739 members in the United States and Canada, including active Fellows, Emeritus Fellows, Judicial Fellows (those who ascended to the bench after their induction) and Honorary Fellows. The College strives to improve and elevate the standards of trial practice, the administration of justice and the ethics of the trial profession.
Mr. Murphy has been practicing in Boston for 25 years. In addition to his private practice, he has served from as First Assistant District Attorney for Middlesex County from 1992-1997 and as an Assistant United States Attorney for the District of Massachusetts from 1987-1991. He is a graduate of Harvard Law School, and has served in leadership roles on a variety of bar association and other professional committees.
