Foley Hoag Honored by Women's Bar Foundation

Boston, MA - May 29, 2009

Foley Hoag's pro bono program was recently honored by the Women’s Bar Foundation at their annual Comedy Night.  As part of the firm's signature Domestic Violence Prevention Program, Foley Hoag has worked with the Women’s Bar Foundation on a number of initiatives, including the Family Law Project for Battered Women, the Framingham Project for Incarcerated Women and the Women’s Lunch Place.

Foley Hoag’s pro bono program has been a pride of the firm since its representation of the plaintiffs in the original lawsuit to desegregate the Boston public schools. Almost two decades ago, the firm established a pioneering program in the field of domestic violence that makes ongoing and important contributions. Lawyers are encouraged to engage in pro bono work and other community activities. In a typical year the firm handles approximately 100 matters and contributes approximately 20,000 hours to pro bono causes.
