Julia Huston of Foley Hoag Named to INTA Panel of Neutrals
January 11, 2012
Julia Huston, chair of Foley Hoag LLP’s Trademark, Copyright and Unfair Competition Practice Group and a partner in the Intellectual Property Department, has been named to the International Trademark Association Panel of Neutrals.
The INTA Panel of Neutrals is the world’s only panel of mediators who are both skilled in trademark and unfair competition law and trained in mediating disputes. The panel seeks to resolve trademark and unfair competition disputes through mediation instead of litigation.
Julia’s practice includes litigation, counseling and strategy in the areas of trademarks, copyrights, patents, trade secrets, Internet commerce, domain name piracy, false advertising and unfair competition. She regularly advocates on behalf of clients in federal court, the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, and in international domain name dispute resolution proceedings.
Foley Hoag’s Trademark, Copyright and Unfair Competition Practice Group handles all types of trademark, trade dress, copyright, trade secret, Internet, domain name, false advertising, defamation, commercial disparagement and other unfair competition matters. The group oversees, on behalf of its clients, thousands of trademark registrations and applications in more than 160 countries, and assists clients in connection with registration and management of copyright, domain name, and Internet keyword registrations. The group’s lawyers also guard clients’ rights against infringement, counsel them through potential disputes, negotiate license agreements, and, when necessary, go to court to prosecute and defend trademark cases, copyright infringement cases, and other cases involving intellectual property rights and unfair competition.
