Headquartered in Burlington, Vermont, PKC designs software and web-based solutions that aim to “couple” patient information with medical literature and research. PKC’s two main products, Profiler and Advisor, draw on a comprehensive database of medical knowledge compiled by PKC researchers over the past two decades.  The company was founded by Dr. Lawrence L. Weed, known as the father of the problem-oriented medical record (POMR) and the subjective, objective, assessment, and plan (SOAP) progress notes.

Sharecare, Inc. is based in Atlanta, Georgia, and was founded in 2009 by, among others, Jeff Arnold and Dr. Mehmet Oz . The company offers an interactive, social Q&A platform that gives consumers access to a wide array of health and wellness experts ranging from hospitals to doctors, specialists to non-profits, to healthcare companies and active health consumers.
