January 11, 2018

Foley Hoag LLP recently represented Waltham, MA-based SolidEnergy in its $34M Series C financing round. This financing brings the company’s overall funding to more than $50M.

Founded in 2012 as an MIT spinoff, SolidEnergy gained recognition with the development of the “anode-free” lithium metal battery. The company is a developer and producer of advanced semi solid Li-Metal technology, the lightest rechargeable cells in the world that can be manufactured using existing Li-ion manufacturing infrastructure. SolidEnergy plans to use the Series C funds to expand their manufacturing capability both internally and through cell manufacturing partners.

Foley Hoag attorneys Mark Barnett, Erica Harrington, Jonathan Romiti, Gwendolyn Jaramillo and David Renauld advised SolidEnergy in the transaction.
