Paul Sweeney has an extensive business practice focusing on venture capital financings, mergers and acquisitions, strategic alliances and related business transactions. Paul serves as Co-Chair of the firm's Technology Practice and as Chair of the firm’s Hiring Committee. Paul has been named one of the Top 20 Startup Lawyers in Boston, and one of the Ten Most Innovative Lawyers in America by the ABA Journal.

Paul's clients range from start-up and venture-backed portfolio companies to well-established public companies, and operate in a wide array of industries, including cloud computing, big data, health tech, computer security, information technology, and enterprise software. Paul provides practical legal advice to entrepreneurs and their businesses regarding corporate formation, contract negotiations, and equity distribution. He is also a trusted advisor to emerging growth companies in the areas of venture capital and debt financings, mergers and acquisitions (both buy and sell side), reorganizations, strategic investments, joint ventures and other partnering transactions. Paul also represents venture capital investors in connection with their portfolio investments in early and growth stage companies.
