  • Junior Patent Agent – Technology Specialist – Chemistry

    Foley Hoag seeks a junior patent agent or technology specialist with 0-3 years of patent prosecution experience to join our Intellectual Property department. Applicants must have an advanced degree, preferably a Ph.D., in Chemistry.

    Experience preparing and prosecuting patent applications in the areas of medicinal chemistry, pharmaceuticals, synthetic methods, and polymer science is preferred, but not required.  Any successful candidate who is not a currently registered patent agent will be expected to take and to pass the USPTO registration exam within a year of being hired. Candidates are encouraged to review the USPTO eligibility criteria prior to applying.

Applicants must have an advanced degree, or significant industry experience, in computer science or a related field (e.g. computer engineering, information engineering).

    The Legal Project Manager will support the firm’s International Litigation and Arbitration practice.  The position will apply project management techniques to support management of engagements throughout their life cycles, including scoping and pitching the financial aspects of engagements; assisting in planning and implementing the case budget and staffing; ongoing budget management and monitoring; collection monitoring; and retrospective evaluation.  The position will also involve implementation of various tools and protocols to develop a database to assist in the pitching and budgeting process.
