    Foley Hoag’s Capital Markets practice group is seeking a mid-level lawyer interested in joining our practice in our Boston or New York office.  A minimum of three years of experience representing/ public companies in registered and unregistered offerings of securities, as well as compliance with ongoing disclosure and governance requirements, is required.  Experience representing underwriters in registered offerings is helpful, but not required.

    Our Capital Markets practice group covers the full spectrum of securities offerings, structuring transactions in all market conditions and navigating regulatory requirements to enable clients to obtain necessary funding and exploit market windows. We staff transactions leanly, affording associates an opportunity for significant responsibility and excellent career development.   • Life Sciences Business Counsel/Partner

    Foley Hoag’s Life Sciences practice group has an opening in our Boston office for a lawyer with a minimum of eight years of experience representing emerging companies in the biotechnology, pharmaceutical, and/or medical device sectors.  Ideally, candidates will have experience negotiating and drafting agreements regarding venture capital financings and agreements regarding intellectual property rights, including patent license agreements with universities and collaboration agreements with pharmaceutical companies.  Experience representing clients at board of director meetings, as well as speaking on panels and at conferences is preferred.

    This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney with significant experience representing life sciences companies to play an important role in the expansion of our practice.  Portable billings are not required.

    Foley Hoag’s Intellectual Property Litigation group has openings in our Boston and New York offices for a lawyer with a minimum of three years of experience in complex commercial litigation, preferably including litigation involving patent rights. The position will involve representation of biopharma manufacturers, research institutions and universities in patent, inventorship, trade secrets, licensing and other contract disputes before U.S. courts, in arbitral proceedings, in the International Trade Commission, and in the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.  Experience in the life sciences space is preferred. A science degree is desirable but not required.

  • Social Media & Communications Specialist

    The Social Media & Communications Specialist supports Foley Hoag's Business Development team in its various marketing efforts with a strong emphasis on social media, communications and public relations for a law firm with approximately 300 attorneys in Boston, New York, Washington, D.C. and Paris.

    The Social Media & Communications Specialist will assist with the delivery of comprehensive and coordinated internal communication strategies that support the firm’s mission and integrates internal and external news. A primary responsibility of the role will be to drive the firm’s social media platforms, including, but not limited to LinkedIn, Twitter and Instagram, and also its intranet. The Social Media & Communications Specialist will consult across firm administrative departments and work closely with the Business Development, Human Resources and Recruiting teams, as well as Pro Bono and Diversity, Equity & Inclusion committees and firm leadership, to coordinate and execute internal requests for various firm-wide communications (using different channels such as memos, newsletters, invitations, attorney-authored client alerts, PPT presentations, special projects and social media imagery). With oversight from the Sr. Communications Manager, this position will plan, edit, and write internal and external content.

    Successful candidates will possess exceptionally strong written and verbal communication skills and social media aptitude. Comfort with a wide variety of technologies and the ability to learn quickly is also desirable. This individual should exhibit excellent interpersonal and time management skills, and display strong attention to detail.

    3-4 years’ experience in marketing at a law firm or professional services experience is a plus. Bachelor’s degree required.  More »
