  • FDA Associate

    December 3, 2019

    Foley Hoag’s Food and Drug (FDA) and Government Strategies practices are seeking an Associate for our Washington, DC office with 2-3 years of relevant experience in the federal government, an FDA-regulated company, or in private practice.  A bachelor’s or advanced degree in science or medicine would be particularly useful.  We seek candidates with strong academic credentials, demonstrated research and analytical proficiencies, and effective verbal and written communication skills.

    We staff our clients’ regulatory matters leanly, affording associates meaningful opportunities for direct client engagement, significant responsibilities, and excellent career development. Associates typically work one-on-one with partners and gain extensive experience in a wide range of regulatory and legislative strategies, handling FDA compliance and enforcement actions, and working closely with clients with complex development programs and legal issues.  Associates in the FDA and Government Strategies practices also work with partners and associates in other practice groups to provide a full range of legal services to Foley Hoag’s life sciences clients.   • International Trade and Investment Controls Lawyer

    October 8, 2019

    Foley Hoag is seeking a lawyer with significant experience in advising clients on the regulation of U.S. trade and investment, including advising on tariff and trade matters, antidumping and exclusion requests, export controls, economic sanctions, foreign direct investment (including CFIUS) and customs and import laws and regulations.  In addition to advising clients on the application of trade regulations including EAR, ITAR, and OFAC regulations to their cross-border business operations, the ideal candidate would also assist clients in developing compliance programs and advising with respect to trade issues in pre-and post-acquisition due diligence, advising on voluntary disclosures related to trade compliance and applying and obtaining licenses, permission, and authorizations for the conduct of international trade. The ideal candidate would be located in Foley Hoag’s D.C. office, but candidates will be considered in the Boston or New York offices.

    Foley Hoag is seeking a lawyer with a minimum of four years of technology transactions experience for our Boston or New York offices.  Candidates must have experience in the full range of agreements used by software,  hardware and other technology companies to acquire or commercialize their intellectual property, technology, products and services, including in-bound and out-bound strategic license agreements; end user license agreements; software-as-a-service (SaaS), cloud service, consulting, and other services agreements; website terms of service; support and maintenance agreements; service level agreements; evaluation and beta license agreements; OEM, reseller and distributor agreements; and open source licenses.

    Experience in any of the following areas would be a plus:

    • Patent license agreements, both university and commercial.
    • Trademark license agreements.
    • Publishing agreements, copyright permissions and publicity releases.
    • Privacy Policies, Information Security Agreements.
    • Technology transactions support in reviewing IP provisions (representations and warranties, etc.) in stock purchase, merger and asset purchase agreements.
