  • Capital Markets Business Associate

    February 22, 2021

    Foley Hoag’s Capital Markets practice group is seeking a mid-level lawyer interested in joining our practice in our Boston or New York office.  A minimum of three years of experience representing/ public companies in registered and unregistered offerings of securities, as well as compliance with ongoing disclosure and governance requirements, is required.  Experience representing underwriters in registered offerings is helpful, but not required.

    Our Capital Markets practice group covers the full spectrum of securities offerings, structuring transactions in all market conditions and navigating regulatory requirements to enable clients to obtain necessary funding and exploit market windows. We staff transactions leanly, affording associates an opportunity for significant responsibility and excellent career development. Associates work one-on-one with partners, gain deep experience in a broad range of transactions and get immediate client contact. Such experience has contributed to the firm’s consistently excellent rankings in national associate satisfaction surveys.

  • Life Sciences Business Counsel/Partner

    January 13, 2021

    Foley Hoag’s Life Sciences practice group has an opening in our Boston office for a lawyer with a minimum of eight years of experience representing emerging companies in the biotechnology, pharmaceutical, and/or medical device sectors.  Ideally, candidates will have experience negotiating and drafting agreements regarding venture capital financings and agreements regarding intellectual property rights, including patent license agreements with universities and collaboration agreements with pharmaceutical companies.  Experience representing clients at board of director meetings, as well as speaking on panels and at conferences is preferred.

    This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney with significant experience representing life sciences companies to play an important role in the expansion of our practice.  Portable billings are not required.

  • IP Litigation Associate

    January 5, 2021

    Foley Hoag’s Intellectual Property Litigation group has openings in our Boston and New York offices for a lawyer with a minimum of three years of experience in complex commercial litigation, preferably including litigation involving patent rights. The position will involve representation of biopharma manufacturers, research institutions and universities in patent, inventorship, trade secrets, licensing and other contract disputes before U.S. courts, in arbitral proceedings, in the International Trade Commission, and in the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.  Experience in the life sciences space is preferred. A science degree is desirable but not required.

    Foley Hoag’s Licensing & Strategic Alliances practice group is seeking junior and senior lawyers interested in joining our licensing and collaboration practice in our Boston or New York offices. A background of two or more years in patent licensing in the Life Sciences industry working with biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or medical device companies would be preferred.

    Hands-on experience in any of the following areas would be a plus: drafting and negotiation of complex collaboration agreements, development, manufacturing and supply agreements, sponsored research agreements, clinical trial agreements, and material transfer agreements.
