    Foley Hoag seeks a mid-level associate with three to six years' experience to join our capital markets team. Candidates should have experience working on a range of securities and capital markets transactions (e.g., IPOs and follow-on offerings of debt and equity securities). Candidates also should have experience in exchange act reporting, corporate governance and regulatory matters. Candidates must have law firm experience, outstanding academic credentials, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.  This position may be based in either our Boston or New York offices.

  • EC VC Associate

    Foley Hoag seeks a mid-level to senior associate with 5+ years’ experience to join our emerging company and venture capital team. Candidates should have experience working with startups, early and growth-stage companies and VC/PE funds on venture capital financings, mergers and acquisitions, licensing, and/or general counseling and service work. Prior experience with technology, life sciences, and/or e-commerce and fintech industries is required.   • Labor and Employment Litigation Associate

    May 12, 2022

    Foley Hoag seeks an associate with at least two years of experience to join the Labor and Employment practice.  Candidates should have experience in a wide array of employment law services, including employment litigation and administrative matters, counseling clients on day to day employment law issues; drafting and reviewing employment-related agreements and policies; enforcement and defense of restrictive covenants; analysis and advice regarding wage/hour issues; labor arbitrations and matters before the NLRB, and employment issues that arise in the firm’s corporate transactional practice.

  • Life Sciences Licensing Senior Associate/Counsel

    Foley Hoag seeks a Senior Associate/Counsel candidate with 6+ years of experience to join our Life Sciences Licensing group.  Candidates with a background in drafting and negotiating complex technology transfer agreements in the Life Sciences industry working with biotechnology, pharmaceutical, diagnostic or medical device companies would be preferred.  The candidate should have experience in licensing, technology transfer and other technology transactions involving intellectual property as well as in conducting due diligence for corporate transactions and technology transfers in the life sciences arena. The candidate should also have experience in some or all of the following: collaboration agreements and intellectual property licenses (such as patent, know-how and trademark licenses); early stage evaluation, joint development and other strategic alliance agreements; and distribution, supply, manufacturing or services agreements.  Candidates should have outstanding academic credentials, comparable law firm experience, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.

    Foley Hoag’s Intellectual Property Department has an opening in our Boston or New York office for a registered patent agent with a Ph.D. in biochemistry, molecular biology, or immunology.

    We seek applicants with strong academic credentials, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and four or more years of patent prosecution experience. Experience in preparing and prosecuting patent applications in the areas of molecular biology, immunology, immunooncology, genetics, and agricultural biotechnology would be particularly useful.

  • Patent Agent/Technology Specialist – Chemistry

    April 26, 2022

    Foley Hoag’s Intellectual Property Department has an opening in our Boston or New York office for a chemist with an advanced degree, preferably a Ph.D., in Chemistry.

    We seek applicants with strong academic credentials, excellent verbal and written communication skills.  Both entry-level and experienced candidates will be considered. Experience preparing and prosecuting patent applications in the areas of small molecules, pharmaceuticals, synthetic methods, polymer science and drug discovery would be a plus, but is not necessary. A successful candidate who is not a registered patent agent will be expected to take and to pass the USPTO registration exam within a year of being hired.  Candidates are encouraged to review the USPTO eligibility criteria prior to applying.
