Patent Agent - Electrical or Electromechanical Engineer

Foley Hoag’s Intellectual Property Department has an opening in our New York or Boston office for a Patent Agent with a background in electrical engineering, electromechanical engineering or related field, such as mechanical engineering, engineering physics, computer engineering,  or mechatronics.  Candidates should have a B.S. in a relevant field, though an M.S. or M.Eng. is preferred.  Knowledge of artificial intelligence concepts is a plus. 

We seek applicants with strong academic credentials and excellent verbal and written communication skills.  We will consider both entry-level candidates and those with patent prosecution experience.  A successful candidate who is not already a registered patent agent will be expected to take and to pass the USPTO registration exam within a year of being hired.  If not yet admitted, candidates are encouraged to review the USPTO eligibility criteria prior to applying.
