Patent Associate - Chemistry

June 3, 2020

Offices

Foley Hoag’s Intellectual Property Department has an opening in our Boston or New York office for an associate who is a registered patent attorney with an advanced degree, preferably a Ph.D., in Chemistry.

We seek applicants with strong academic credentials, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and at least three years of experience in preparing and prosecuting patent applications in the areas of small molecules, pharmaceuticals, synthetic methods, polymer science and drug discovery. Candidates are required to have a USPTO registration.

We staff our clients’ patent matters leanly, affording associates an opportunity for significant responsibility and excellent career development. Associates typically work one-on-one with partners, gain a depth of experience in a broad range of patent strategy, drafting, prosecution and diligence matters, and get immediate client contact. Such experience has contributed to the firm’s consistently excellent rankings in various national satisfaction surveys and industry recognition lists.
