Description
Transportation Priorities, Economic Development and Growth in Boston and Beyond
** This event has been postponed to February 7 due to inclement weather **
We may live in an increasingly digital age, but transportation remains the engine of commerce - and while the Boston region is one of the world's centers of innovation, it also has some of the oldest transportation infrastructure in the nation. Today, as entirely new neighborhoods like the Seaport emerge, as residents are flocking back to the city, and as mixed use communities rise along Route 128, the region's transit infrastructure is under pressure. Congestion, funding challenges, and reliability threaten the region's continued growth and the viability of future real estate development.
Join NAIOP as we hear from the State's Secretary of Transportation and a panel of real estate and transit experts as they tackle some of the region's most pressing transportation challenges and discuss some of the innovative solutions being proposed to enhance the region's infrastructure. Some of the topics to be discussed include:
- Solving growing congestion issues in the Seaport
- Transportation challenges and solutions along Route 128
- How the state is prioritizing transit investments and the impact on real estate development
- New public transit initiatives to enhance service and reliability
