The Trustees of the Foley Hoag Foundation invite you to the next Speaker Series event with special guest, Monica Cannon-Grant, who will lead a discussion on the role of activism in addressing inequalities in the City of Boston.
Ms. Cannon-Grant is the CEO/Founder of Violence In Boston Inc., a non-profit organization and a Foley Hoag Foundation grant recipient whose mission is to improve the quality of life of individuals from disenfranchised communities by reducing the prevalence of violence and the impact of associated trauma. She has been a lead organizer of several marches and protests, including a march of 55,000 people on June 2, 2020 to protest the murder of George Floyd and other violence committed by police across the country. Her activism and work for her community led to her recognition as one of the 2020 Bostonians of the Year by The Boston Globe Magazine, as well as one of Boston Magazine's "100 Most Influential Bostonians."
