Getting Real: A 'Video Podcast' Series - An Interview with Joe Scrofano

Hosted by Foley Hoag partner Veronica Jennings to generate dialogue among and build community with women lawyers

These days, we are looking at this widespread remote working scenario as an opportunity to enhance business relationships by reexamining professional boundaries and relying on means such as video conferences and phone calls. This "video podcast" series consists of discussions with female and male attorneys about issues related to the COVID-19 pandemic. We hope you find them interesting and helpful and we are grateful to all the lawyers who made time to talk with us.

Guest: Joe Scrofano, Founder and Managing Partner of Scrofano Law PC

In this episode, Veronica interviews Joseph Scrofano, Founder and Managing Partner of Scrofano Law PC - a boutique criminal, DUI and cannabis defense firm that serves clients in the District of Columbia, Northern Virginia and Southern Maryland. Once former opposing counsel during Veronica’s days at the U.S. Attorneys’ Office in Washington D.C., Joseph discusses his team’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic. With four attorneys and two administrative staff, he explains how they temporarily closed their physical office across the street from D.C. Superior Court and transitioned their busy trial firm to work remotely. He shares strategies his team employed to continue operations in light of court closures, declining revenue and increased stress. Joseph and Veronica also reflect on the importance of human connectedness and helping others during this difficult time.
