Representing Immigrant Survivors of Domestic Violence

Hosted by Foley Hoag

Foley Hoag LLP hosted a two-hour training presented by DOVE, Inc. (Domestic Violence Ended, Inc.) on affirmative immigration relief available to immigrant survivors of domestic violence. The training was open to attorneys interested in taking on pro bono cases, legal services attorneys and accredited representatives. The training covered best practices when working with survivors of trauma and domestic violence, as well as the most common forms of immigration relief, including, U Visa Petitions for victims of serious crimes; VAWA Self-Petitions for abused spouses of U.S. citizens and green card holders; Removal of Conditions for abused spouses and children who have obtained conditional residency; and Special Immigrant Juvenile Status for abused, neglected, and abandoned youth.
