Getting Real: A 'Video Podcast' Series: An Interview with Mark Schamel
Hosted by Foley Hoag partner Veronica Jennings to generate dialogue among and build community with women lawyers
These days, we are looking at this widespread remote working scenario as an opportunity to enhance business relationships by reexamining professional boundaries and relying on means such as video conferences and phone calls. This "video podcast" series consists of discussions with female and male attorneys about issues related to the COVID-19 pandemic. We hope you find them interesting and helpful and we are grateful to all the lawyers who made time to talk with us.
Guest: Mark Schamel, Partner, Lowenstein Sandler
In today’s episode, Veronica gets real with Mark Schamel, a partner at Lowenstein Sandler practicing in the area of white collar criminal defense. Mark talks about storytelling, and why stories matter so much to people and why they have so much power to persuade. Veronica and Mark discuss how to bring a client’s story to life in a courtroom, and how authenticity is one of the keys to storytelling. Mark also shares his view that the best heroes of a story are consistent, predictable and reliable, and relays some of his favorite heroes in well-known stories.
