February 10, 2009
Foley Hoag LLP congratulates Robin Toone for his recent appointment to the Mone Committee, a 12-member advisory committee established by Senator Edward M. Kennedy to recommend candidates for the positions of United States Attorney and United States Marshal.
In the announcement, Senator Kennedy noted, “I am very pleased that each of these distinguished lawyers has agreed to help identify candidates for U.S. Attorney and U.S. Marshal . . . These two positions are enormously important to the proper functioning of our federal courts. I am confident that this Committee will identify people with the integrity, independence and sound judgment to make certain that our system of justice works for all of the people of Massachusetts.”
Before joining Foley Hoag, Toone served as counsel for Senator Kennedy on the United States Senate Committee on the Judiciary from 2001 to 2005. He also directed complex civil rights litigation as an attorney at the Southern Center for Human Rights from 1995 to 2000.
