June 13, 2013
A team of Foley Hoag LLP lawyers with diverse experience in energy and clean technology have launched a new blog to highlight and explain legal and business developments in the clean technology and energy space.
“Energy & Cleantech Counsel” (http://www.energycleantechcounsel.com) features insight and commentary from a team of Foley Hoag lawyers that includes primary contributors Mary Beth Gentleman and Mark Barnett, co-chairs of the firm’s Energy and Cleantech Practice Group, and Adam Wade and Zachary Gerson. Their experience spans cleantech and energy, entrepreneurial services, venture capital, environmental compliance, government strategies and environmental litigation, among other disciplines.
The blog team has deep knowledge of renewable energy technologies such as photovoltaics, wind, anaerobic digestion, biomass, geothermal, hydro, water purification, energy storage, transportation, biofuels and energy efficiency. Their clients include start-up and established clean technology companies, and conventional energy companies.
The team have represented clients in contract negotiations, approval processes, real estate negations, patent and licensing agreements and financing deals. They will blog on topics such as regulation, energy efficiency, tax equity, net metering, smart grid development, energy storage and specific industry segments such as wind and solar energy.
“Supporting world-wide economic growth with sustainable energy technologies and strategies presents unlimited opportunities for companies in this space,” said Gentleman. “Anticipating and understanding the barriers and incentives associated with those opportunities are the issues we will be taking on in our blog.”
