Foley Hoag Partner David Kluft Appointed to the SJC Committee for Professional Responsibility for Clerks of the Courts

David A. Kluft, a partner in Foley Hoag’s Litigation Department, has been appointed to the Supreme Judicial Court Committee for Professional Responsibility for Clerks of the Courts by Chief Justice Roderick L. Ireland. The 4-member committee is tasked with receiving and investigating complaints about the conduct of Clerk Magistrates throughout Massachusetts and making recommendations to the SJC with respect to violations of the Code of Professional Responsibility for Clerks of the Courts of the Commonwealth. Kluft will serve on the committee for a term of five years.

Kluft has a wide-ranging litigation practice with an emphasis on commercial litigation and trademark and copyright matters. He has significant experience representing and advising companies in matters involving intellectual property, contract disputes, business torts and securities. Kluft's practice also includes substantial appellate work, and he has successfully argued before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit and the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court.

Kluft currently serves as a member of the Board of Editors of the Boston Bar Journal. He is also a member of the board of the Supreme Judicial Court Law Clerks Society and a corporation member of Greater Boston Legal Services.
