Fundamentals of Medicare to Be Main Focus of Discussion

Foley Hoag Partner Thomas Barker will be a featured speaker at the American Health Lawyers Association Conference on The Fundamentals of Health Law, being held November 3-5, 2013 at the Chicago Marriot Magnificent Mile.
Barker’s panel, titled “Fundamentals of Medicare Parts C-D,” will feature the history and structure of Medicare managed care and prescription drug plan benefit; the breakdown of Parts C and D coverage, reimbursement, and appeals; current hot legal issues in Medicare Advantage; Affordable Care Act changes; and references and resources.
Barker serves as the Co-Chair of Foley Hoag's Healthcare Practice. He focuses his practice on complex federal and state health care legal and regulatory matters with a special expertise in Medicare and Medicaid law and regulations and the regulatory implementation of the federal health care reform law, the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA).
