Foley Hoag Advises uTest in $43M Series E Financing

Foley Hoag LLP recently advised global app-testing leader uTest in its $43 million series E financing.
Best known for its award-winning capabilities as a crowdsourcing technology quality company, uTest provides the solutions companies need to earn and measure the loyalty of their users. Its services include in-the-wild testing technology; mobile SDK to enable crash reporting, user feedback and distribution on phones; mobile analytics; and 360° app quality analysis to streamline user feedback.
Following this round of financing, uTest announced plans to expand its offering and rebrand as Applause. Foley Hoag advised uTest/Applause in connection with trademark protection in the U.S. and abroad.
Foley Hoag partner Gil Arie and associate Mike Nelson advised uTest on the transaction and partner Julia Huston and associate Joshua Jarvis advised on trademark protection. The series E financing was led by Goldman Sachs and backed by all of uTest’s previous investors, including QuestMark Partners, Scale Venture Partners and Longworth Venture Partners.
