Foley Hoag Partner David Kluft to Serve as Panelist at Emerging Issues in Social Media Liability Conference

Foley Hoag LLP partner David Kluft will be a panelist at Suffolk University Law School's Emerging Issues in Social Media Liability Conference, being held November 14, 2014 in Boston, MA. This event is geared toward professionals who represent companies using social media for marketing, as well as those who manage employees with access to social media in the workplace.
Kluft will appear on a panel entitled "Potential Remedies for Negative/Defamatory Online Speech." Topics to be addressed include issues surrounding online negative speech; defamation and commercial disparagement; copyright/DMCA as a potential remedy; the use of the Langham Act to sidestep the CDA; right of publicity; false light invasion of privacy; and use of State Unfair Competition/93A.
Kluft is a partner in Foley Hoag’s Litigation Department, and a member of the Trademark, Copyright and Unfair Competition group, Business and Commercial Disputes group and Advertising and Marketing group.
