Foley Hoag LLP and ComplySmart have partnered to offer “Compliance Beyond HIPAA: How Health Care and Life Sciences Companies Can Stay Compliant and Keep Health Data Private and Secure,” to be held at Foley Hoag’s Boston office on Thursday, April 30, 2015. Foley Hoag partner Colin Zick will appear as a featured speaker for the event.

He frequently counsels clients on issues involving information privacy and security, including state and federal data security laws, FTC Red Flags Rule and HIPAA. During the seminar, he will expound on the ever-increasing scope of what health care and life sciences companies need to know about privacy and data security in the digital age. Joining Zick will be Bill Richardson, Business Development Director at ComplySmart, a security, audit and regulatory compliance firm with extensive experience in HITRUST, HIPAA and DEA EPCS compliance.
Topics to be discussed include: identifying post-HIPAA challenges; building a tool-kit of data sharing controls and protocols within and across entities; techniques for managing the expanded concept of reportable breaches; ensuring ongoing, effective assessments, reassessments and training and staying within budget; and HITRUST Certification.
