Foley Hoag Partner Mélida Hodgson Recognized by Latinvex as a Top Female Lawyer Specializing in Latin America

Online news source Latinvex recently named Foley Hoag LLP partner Mélida Hodgson to its 2015 Latin America's Top 50 Female Lawyers list. Hodgson appeared within the Arbitration/Litigation category, and was cited for her recent key work in securing a victory for Venezuela in claims arising out of a coal supply agreement between Nova Scotia Power, Inc. and Guasare Coal International (now Carbozulia International) - the foreign marketing arm of a mixed foreign Venevuelan entity mining coal in Zulia, Venezuela.

Hodgson is a member of Foley Hoag's International Litigation and Arbitration group, and is resident in the firm's Washington, D.C. office. She focuses her practice on investor-State and commercial arbitrations, as well as counseling governments and state-owned entities with respect to international investment protection obligations, World Trade Organization dispute resolution and international trade policy issues.
