Foley Hoag Represents Sketchfab in $7M Series A Funding Round
August 28, 2015
Foley Hoag LLP recently represented Sketchfab, the 3D model visualization and upload service, in a $7 million Series A1 fundraising led by FirstMark Capital and joined by Balderton Capital, Techstars Ventures and other investment groups and angels.
New York based Sketchfab is the leading platform to share 3D content and designs online. Users upload files in almost any 3D format directly on sketchfab.com or via one of its exporters. Once models are on Sketchfab, they can be embedded on any web page or shared on other platforms such as Tumblr, WordPress, Bēhance, Facebook, Kickstarter, LinkedIn and deviantART. With the new funding, Sketchfab hopes to invest more heavily in the worlds of virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR).
Foley Hoag attorneys Matthew Eckert and Prithvi Tanwar, who have served Sketchfab as outside general counsel since its formation, represented the company in the financing, with help from Jeremy Arak.
