August 28, 2015
Foley Hoag LLP’s client, Stream.io, Inc., which provides a proprietary newsfeed development and management service that helps dramatically reduce the time it takes to build news feeds and activity streams, recently announced that it raised $1.75 million in a seed round of funding. Investors included Brad Feld/FGAngels, Techstars Ventures, Tahoma Ventures, Social Starts, Galvanize, Dharmesh Shah, Wayne Chang, Jud Valeski, Kyle Wild, James Powell and others.
Currently based in Boulder, Colorado, Stream.io was founded by the authors of the popular open source Stream-Framework. The company will use this investment to expand its team, boost its development tools and improve analytics and personalization features.
Foley Hoag attorneys Matthew Eckert and Prithvi Tanwar, who have represented Stream.io as outside general corporate counsel since its incorporation, worked on the financing, with assistance from Jeremy Arak.
