Associate Shrutih Tewarie Elected Co-President of ACS Boston Lawyer Chapter

December 9, 2015

Shrutih Tewarie, an associate in Foley Hoag LLP’s Litigation Department, has been elected co-president of The American Constitution Society for Law and Policy (ACS) - Boston Lawyer Chapter.

ACS strives to promote the vitality of the U.S. Constitution and the fundamental values it expresses: individual rights and liberties, genuine equality, access to justice, democracy and the rule of law. ACS believes that law can and should be a force for improving the lives of all people. By bringing together many of the country’s best legal minds, ACS works for positive change by shaping debate on important legal and constitutional issues through development and promotion of high-impact ideas, and by building networks of lawyers, law students, judges and policymakers dedicated to those ideas.

ACS has lawyer chapters in over 40 cities that regularly host programs on cutting edge legal issues as well as practice-based programs.

In her practice at Foley Hoag, Tewarie helps clients manage the opportunities of globalization and address the challenges involved in operating in multiple jurisdictions around the world.  She represents clients in a wide variety of complex litigation matters, cross border disputes and government investigations, including investigations brought under the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act.  In the area of foreign trade, she advises clients regarding compliance with U.S. export regulations and economic sanctions programs.  Tewarie is also a member of the firm’s Trademark, Copyright & Unfair Competition practice, providing representation on federal trademark infringement actions and copyright matters.
