Attorney Sarah Altschuller to Speak on Human Rights Issues Within Oil and Gas Sector

Foley Hoag LLP attorney Sarah Altschuller will be a featured presenter and panelist at the Seminar on Human Rights Due Diligence in the Oil and Gas Sector, organized by the Institute for Human Rights and Business and the American Bar Association's Center for Human Rights. The event takes place February 5, 2015 in Houston, Texas.
Altschuller will first speak on "The Voluntary Principles on Security and Human Rights: Application & Relevance." She will then participate on a panel discussion concerning "Human Rights Challenges and Opportunities in the Oil and Gas Sector." Other seminar topics on the agenda include an overview and introduction to the Oil and Gas Sector Guide on Implementing the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, and a session on promoting human rights and avoiding conflict in the Extractive Sector.
Altschuller is Counsel in Foley Hoag’s Corporate Social Responsibility practice. In this role, she advises multinational companies regarding the development and implementation of CSR strategies, policies, and procedures, as well as compliance with emerging legal and regulatory requirements.
