Foley Hoag LLP partner Mélida Hodgson has recently been appointed to a new task force established by the American Society of International Law (ASIL) to examine and promote the presence of people of African descent in international law. The task force - Blacks in the American Society of International Law (BASIL) - is co-chaired by honorary ASIL president the Honorable Gabrielle Kirk McDonald of the Iran-U.S. Claims Tribunal (The Hague), and University of Iowa professor Adrien K. Wing.
"I am honored to have been asked to join this new task force, working alongside an esteemed roster of colleagues," Hodgson said. "I look forward to contributing to BASIL's mission to foster the development of black international lawyers, legal experts and scholars."
