Foley Hoag Attorney Alexandra Kerr Meise to Speak at 2015 Arbitration Institutions in Africa Conference

Foley Hoag LLP attorney Alexandra Kerr Meise of the firm’s International Litigation and Arbitration practice will serve as a speaker and panel chair at the Arbitration Institutions in Africa Conference 2015, being held July 23, 2015 at the African Union Commission in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
The main focus of this day-long conference is "The Role of Arbitration Institutions in the Development of Arbitration in Africa." Featured panelists will examine the roles and functions of arbitration institutions within the continent; identify gaps; understand user perception of their services; and suggest ways to improve their effectiveness.
Meise, who is the only participant attending from the United States, will speak on opening arbitration in Africa, after chairing a panel discussion on "The Role and Function of Arbitration Institutions on the [African] Continent."
The 2015 Arbitration Institutions in Africa Conference is jointly organized by the African Union and SOAS (University of London). Its goal is to contribute to the creation of an enduring culture for the effective administration of arbitration in Africa that meets the requirements of its users on the Continent and beyond.
