Foley Hoag Advises Onshape in $64M Financing

March 12, 2015

Foley Hoag LLP advised computer-aided design (CAD) software startup Onshape in raising a total of $64M in venture capital from NEA, North Bridge and Commonwealth Capital.

Based in Cambridge, Mass., Onshape’s beta site recently went public. Onshape is the first full-cloud 3D CAD system that lets everyone on a design team work together using any web browser, phone or tablet. Breaking away from the traditional model of desktop-installed CAD, Onshape has data management and collaboration built in at its core. With Onshape, CAD systems and CAD data live in one place in the cloud, and are never copied anywhere. Companies worldwide use Onshape to speed up the design of consumer electronics, mechanical machinery, medical devices, machine parts, industrial equipment, and many other products.

Foley Hoag partners John Patterson and Matthew Eckert and associates Patrick Connolly and Gabrielle Bernstein advised Onshape on the transactions.
