Foley Hoag to Sponsor Think-Tank Discussion During Inaugural Women’s Entrepreneurship Week
Partner Meredith Haviland Invited to Participate as Think-Tank Member
October 13, 2015
Foley Hoag LLP will be a sponsor of “Building to Scale: What Do High-Growth Entrepreneurs Need?” on Thursday, October 15, 2015 as part of the City of Boston’s inaugural Women’s Entrepreneurship Week. Firm partner Meredith Haviland will take part as a member of the session's 25-person think-tank chosen to discuss what happens for women entrepreneurs between early stage and growth stage companies that supports or inhibits success.
This invitation-only event is developed by Women Entrepreneurs Boston (WE BOS) in partnership with the City of Boston and sponsored by Foley Hoag. The event is also supported by The Simmons College School of Management Entrepreneurship Program, The Refinery and The List.
Participants will help identify key areas for practical support of and city-wide collaboration with women entrepreneurs, and address issues such as how to create a community that helps high-growth, female-led companies thrive in Boston and how to make the business case that this is important for everyone.
Haviland will be joined by other think-tank panelists - a hand-selected group of entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, researchers and media representatives - including Linda Pizzuti Henry, Managing Director, Boston Globe; Carol Bramson, President & Founder, TBG Capital, LLC; Dr. Retsina Meyer, Fulbright Scholar and neuroscience entrepreneur; Diane Hessan, StartUp Institute; Reed Sturtevant, Project 11 Ventures; and Rob Ciampa, CMO, Pixability. Award-winning journalist Ellen McGirt will serve as moderator. A select number of observers are invited to join and listen to the conversation.
Women Entrepreneurs Boston (WE BOS) advances Boston’s women entrepreneurs - including startups, home-based businesses and the established brick-and-mortar mainstays of Boston's neighborhoods - by providing the skills, technical assistance and network needed to launch and grow their business. The organization is in partnership with the Mayor's office of Women's Advancement and Office of Business Development.
