Foley Hoag partner Philippe Sarrailhé took part in a panel discussion at the "Arbitration Meets the Competition Authorities" conference, which took place in Brussels, Belgium on December 13, 2016. This event, organized by the Belgian Centre for Arbitration and Mediation, the Fédération des Entreprises de Belgique, and the Brussels School of Competition, was structured to foster a better understanding as to the handling of competition law by the arbitration world.
Sarrailhé and his fellow panelists discussed several topics, including the issues facing arbitrators when considering whether to apply competition law as part of public policy rules of the EU and the extent and nature of cooperation available to arbitral tribunals from the competition authorities at EU and Member State levels.
Sarrailhé primarily practices in the fields of international commercial arbitration and litigation and alternative dispute resolution. The disputes matters in which he is involved reflect a wide array of commercial and investment domains, ranging from the construction sector to the implementation of management contracts to international distribution agreements to post-acquisition disputes.
