Foley Hoag Advises Cake in $1.35M Seed Financing
December 4, 2017
Foley Hoag LLP recently advised Cake, a Boston-based end-of-life planning platform, in its $1.35M seed round led by venture capital firm Pillar.
Cake offers a web application that asks users a series of questions regarding their advance care and end-of-life preferences. Based on the answers given, the technology provides recommendations on end-of-life planning. Users can store and share their profiles with friends, family members and their care team to ensure their wishes are respected. The platform is currently available as a consumer product and is distributed through healthcare payers, providers and systems.
Cake intends to use the funds for marketing and software development purposes.
Foley Hoag attorneys Mark Haddad, Jeremy Arak and Prithvi Tanwar advised Cake in the transaction. Foley Hoag serves as Cake’s outside general counsel.
