Foley Hoag Attorneys Hery Frédéric Ranjeva and Valentine Fages Train Madagascar Government Officials on Oil Profit-sharing Contracts
March 28, 2017
Foley Hoag partner Hery Frédéric Ranjeva and associate Valentine Fages recently trained government officials of Madagascar on oil profit-sharing contracts at a special session organized by the African Legal Support Facility (ALSF), in partnership with the African Development Bank (AfDB) and the Government of Madagascar. The training, which was designed to equip government officials with the skills to negotiate these contracts, took place in Antananarivo, Madagascar's capital city.
Throughout their presentation, which was attended by officials from five ministries and executive agencies, Ranjeva and Fages discussed a broad range of topics including pre-contractual issues, drafting and negotiating key contractual clauses, fiscal aspects, community development agreements and dispute resolution.
Opening and closing remarks at the session were provided by H.E. Mr. Ying Vah Zafilahy, the Minister in charge of Mines and Hydrocarbons and Mr. Abdelkrim Bendjebbour, the African Development Bank Resident Representative to Madagascar.
