Foley Hoag Attorney Anna Toubiana to Speak on Arbitral Jurisdiction at ICC YAF Conference

Foley Hoag LLP associate Anna Toubiana will take part in the “International Arbitration’s Legitimacy and its Coexistence with Ordinary Jurisdiction” conference, being held on May 25 in Santa Domingo.

Sponsored by the International Chamber of Commerce Young Arbitrators Forum (ICC YAF), the event will focus on topics such as how to determine the convenience of an arbitral clause in commercial contracts versus the ordinary jurisdiction, and advantages and disadvantages between a court judgment and an arbitral award, among others. Toubiana will participate in a roundtable discussion entitled “The Comparative Analysis Between Ordinary and Arbitral Jurisdiction,” based on the points of view of different jurisdictions in Latin America.

Toubiana is a member of Foley Hoag’s International Litigation and Arbitration Department. She focuses her practice on Sovereign State representation; primarily on Investor-State disputes. Anna has experience working with the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), International Center for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID) and United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL) rules.
