Foley Hoag Attorneys Co-Author Chapter for Chambers International Arbitration 2019 Guide
December 14, 2018
Foley Hoag LLP attorneys Daniel Schimmel, Mélida Hodgson, Kenneth Figueroa and Christina Hioureas have written “International Commercial Arbitration in the USA,” a chapter in the newly released Chambers International Arbitration 2019 Guide. The Chambers Global Practice Guide series provides in-house counsel with expert legal commentary on various issues that influence businesses across the globe, and enables readers to compare legislation and procedure across a range of key jurisdictions. For each guide, Chambers and Partners selects contributing editors who are recognized as among the best in their fields.
The chapter explores how U.S. courts have facilitated the use international arbitration for the resolution of disputes between industries engaged in cross-border transactions. This includes a survey of recent trends in international arbitrations and the increased use of emergency arbitration proceedings and third-party funding.
