Nationally recognized food and drug attorney Mark Mansour has joined Foley Hoag LLP as a partner in its FDA practice group. He is resident in the firm’s Washington, D.C. office.

Mansour’s practice focuses on regulatory and litigation matters involving the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). He advises clients in the drug and biologicals, medical device, dietary supplement and food industries to develop and implement strategies for regulatory approvals, compliance and enforcement actions, rulemaking as well as public policy issues.

"Regulatory strategy for novel technologies is a critical area for our life sciences clients," said Foley Hoag Co-Managing Partner Jeffrey Collins. "Mark is a widely established expert in areas like nanotechnology and digital health, and our clients in these areas will greatly benefit from his extensive knowledge and experience with the FDA."

Mansour also has considerable Federal Trade Commission (FTC) experience that involves investigations, enforcement actions, negotiations and consent decrees for marketing, advertising and privacy matters, as well as advertising disputes before the National Advertising Division of the Better Business Bureaus (NAD).

"We are delighted to have Mark join our Washington office’s FDA practice group," said Thomas Barker, co-chair of Foley Hoag’ Administrative Law Health Care practice. "We are increasingly seeing complex issues for life science technologies that require careful coordination with FDA regulatory and CMS reimbursement strategies. Mark will be a huge asset to our clients and existing team in D.C."

Prior to joining the firm, Mansour was a partner in the Washington, D.C. office of Mayer Brown. Before entering private practice, Mansour served as assistant general counsel and director of global regulatory affairs with two of the world’s largest food companies, where he set policies and global strategies on health and nutrition claims, fortification, packaging, food safety, FDA compliance and removal of international regulatory and trade barriers.

Mansour earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Georgetown University, a Master of Arts degree from Harvard College and a Juris Doctorate from Georgetown University.
