Foley Hoag Partner Clara Brillembourg to Participate in 5th Annual ITA-IEL-ICC Joint Conference on International Energy Arbitration

Foley Hoag LLP partner Clara Brillembourg will be a featured speaker at the 5th Annual ITA-IEL-ICC Joint Conference on International Energy Arbitration, taking place on January 18-19, 2018 at the Hilton Houston Post Oak in Houston, Texas. The program will offer access to a faculty of leading energy arbitration experts, interactive roundtables and networking opportunities. It is presented by the Institute for Transnational Arbitration, the Institute for Energy Law of the Center for American and International Law, and the ICC International Court of Arbitration.
Brillembourg’s panel, titled “Boundary Disputes in the Oil and Gas Sector,” will focus on current boundary disputes with significant energy implications, the state of public international law and treaty developments on cross-border resource development in disputed areas, and boundary risk mitigation strategies. Panelists will also provide an insider’s view on the recent ITLOS decision in Ghana v. Cote d’Ivoire.
Brillembourg is a member of Foley Hoag’s International Litigation and Arbitration practice, where she specializes in public international law and investment arbitration. She counsels States in maritime delimitation cases before the International Tribunal on the Law of the Sea (ITLOS), the International Court of Justice and ad hoc tribunals. She also represents sovereign States before the International Court of Justice in cases involving territorial rights and trans-boundary environmental harm.
