Arrival Will Expand Litigation and Arbitration Practice in Paris
November 13, 2018
Foley Hoag continues an aggressive expansion of its Paris office with the hiring of Diana Paraguacuto-Mahéo as partner. Paraguacuto-Mahéo's arrival follows that of partner Andrea Pinna in October; both will strengthen the firm's International Litigation & Arbitration practice in Paris.
A member of the Paris, New York and Madrid bars, Paraguacuto-Mahéo specializes in international commercial and investment arbitration. She regularly serves as counsel to sovereign States and French and foreign companies in complex arbitral proceedings before the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), the International Center for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID), the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA), and the Centre de Mediation et d’Arbitrage de Paris (CMAP). She is also Member of the Court of Arbitration of the ICC.
"Diana is a uniquely gifted advocate who has successfully represented clients in litigation and arbitration around the world," said Paul Reichler, the Washington, D.C.-based chair of Foley Hoag's International Litigation & Arbitration Department. "She will be a major player for us on both our Paris and U.S.-based teams."
Paraguacuto-Mahéo holds a Master in Law from Columbia Law School and from Université Panthéon-Assas. She also holds a J.D. from the Université Panthéon-Sorbonne and Universidad Complutense de Madrid.
Pinna, who also represents States and French and foreign companies in commercial and investment arbitration, joined Foley Hoag in October, along with associates Anne-Fleur Dory and Hortense Fouchard.
Paraguacuto-Mahéo brings the number of new attorneys in Foley Hoag's Paris office in the past month to four, all in the commercial and investment arbitration practice.
