Foley Hoag Represents New England Treatment Access in Sale to Surterra Wellness

Foley Hoag LLP represented New England Treatment Access, LLC (NETA), a leading Massachusetts-based cannabis company, in the negotiation of a definitive agreement with Surterra Wellness, one of the fastest growing health and wellness companies in the United States. The cash and stock transaction is one of the largest acquisitions to date in the U.S. cannabis industry. The transaction remains subject to regulatory approval, including by the Massachusetts Cannabis Control Commission and certain local regulatory authorities.
Foley Hoag served as legal adviser to NETA on the transaction. The attorney team was led by Ryan Rourke Reed, and included Stacie Aarestad, Remi Kathawa, Justin Beegle and Maxwell Tenney on transactional matters; Nicholas Romanos on tax aspects of the transaction; and Kevin C.
