Foley Hoag Counsel Christina Hioureas to Speak at the NYSBA Dispute Resolution Section Fall Meeting 2019

October 22, 2019

Foley Hoag LLP counsel and United Nations practice chair Christina Hioureas will be a featured speaker at the New York State Bar Association (NYSBA) Dispute Resolution Section Fall Meeting, taking place on October 25, 2019 at New York Law School. This year’s theme is the “Future of Alternative Dispute Resolution: Where Are We Going and How Do We Get There?”

Hioureas will join “The Coming Revolution in International Mediation: The Singapore Convention and Its Impact” panel. She will discuss how the New York Convention enhanced the use of international arbitration to facilitate growth in international trade, and whether the Singapore Convention can foster the same advances for mediation, thus resulting in improved global trade.

As a member of the Foley Hoag’s International Litigation & Arbitration Department, Hioureas represents States, private and State-owned entities, and individuals on international disputes and public international law matters, and advises States on matters before the United Nations and its bodies.
