Foley Hoag Partner Gare Smith to Participate in IHRC Business and Human Rights Webinar Series

Foley Hoag LLP partner Gare Smith will serve as a panelist for the ABA International Law Section International Human Rights Committee (IHRC) webinar series “Engaging Business with Human Rights” on December 16, 2020. The series considers the various ways in which companies can engage with human rights to prevent causing harm, address negative human rights impacts, and take steps to advance the rights of marginalized and disadvantaged communities.
Smith and his fellow panelists will discuss into how companies can integrate respect for human rights throughout their operations and management systems; the value of creating an internal culture of respect for human rights; and the contributions that the board of directors and the legal, compliance and management teams can make to businesses’ respect for human rights.
