Foley Hoag Counsel Christina Hioureas to Speak at the Annual Joint Symposium of Arbitrators

Foley Hoag LLP counsel and United Nations practice chair Christina Hioureas will be a featured speaker at the 35th annual Joint Symposium of Arbitrators program, taking place in London on February 24, 2020. This year’s theme is “States and State Entities in International Arbitration.”

Hioureas will join the “Representing States and State Entities” panel. The roundtable discussion will discuss procurement and selection of counsel for representing States and State Entities, the differences between representing States and representing State Entities, how to ensure State and State Entity representatives are properly authorized to represent the State and State Entity in international arbitration, and unique challenges in representing States and State Entities.

The Symposium is co-organized by Queen Mary University of London, School of International Arbitration and ICC Institute of World Business Law. 

As a member of the Foley Hoag International Litigation & Arbitration Department, Hioureas represents States, private and State-owned entities, and individuals on international disputes and public international law matters, and advises States on matters before the United Nations and its bodies.
