Foley Hoag attorneys Kenneth Figueroa, Diana Paraguacuto-Mahéo and Ofilio Mayorga to Participate in IPA’s International Congress on Legal Skills in International Arbitration
September 2, 2020
Foley Hoag LLP partners Kenneth Figueroa and Diana Paraguacuto-Mahéo will speak on a panel moderated by international associate Ofilio Mayorga during the 1st International Congress on Legal Skills in International Arbitration. The program, sponsored by the Instituto Peruano de Arbitraje (IPA), is taking place September 3-4, 2020.
The panel, titled "Parallel Proceedings: Tips on avoiding them and how to manage them when they occur," will discuss parallel arbitration proceedings involving the same or similar parties arising from the same underlying disputes, and their occurrence in investor-state, commercial and construction arbitration. It will also discuss arbitral and judicial proceedings arising from the same controversies, including, for example, criminal corruption investigations occurring simultaneously as an arbitration where corruption is an underlying claim or defense in the dispute.
Figueroa, Paraguacuto-Mahéo and Mayorga are members of Foley Hoag’s International Litigation & Arbitration Department.
