Foley Hoag Attorney Juan Pablo Hugues to Speak at Judiciary of Mexico's State of Guanajuato on International Dispute Settlement

Foley Hoag LLP International Associate Juan Pablo Hugues will speak at the Judiciary of Mexico’s State of Guanajuato on International Dispute Settlement, being held virtually on Friday, August 13, 2021.  The event will be attended by post-graduate students of law.

Hugues will speak on the basic concepts of international dispute settlement between sovereign states, including its history, arbitration and litigation as the principal means of international dispute settlement, and will also discuss about the principal institutions of international dispute settlement, as well as the current status of international dispute settlement.

As a member of the International Litigation & Arbitration practice in Washington, D.C., Hugues represents sovereign States in international disputes and advises them on public international law, in general. He has experience in a wide range of public international law matters and disputes, including foreign investment, energy and deep-sea mining, law of the sea and environmental law, as well as international security.
