Foley Hoag Attorney José M. García Rebolledo Named to Latinvex List of Top 25 Rising Legal Stars in Latin America

December 8, 2021

Foley Hoag LLP international associate José Manuel García Rebolledo has been named to the Latinvex Top 25 Rising Legal Stars in Latin America list for 2021.

Latinvex, an online publisher of daily news and weekly analysis on Latin American business, compiled this list of stand-out attorneys at international law firms doing business in the region. Criteria for selection was scope and prominence of work handled by the individual attorneys, as well as future potential.

Latinvex called attention to Rebolledo’s "key work" including the representation of Uruguay both against a claim by Italba Corporation over rights to use the electromagnetic spectrum and regulation of the Uruguayan telecommunications industry and in a claim by Philip Morris Brands Sàrl, Philip Morris Products S.A. and Abal Hermanos S.A against Uruguay’s adoption of the most progressive tobacco control regulation in the world.

Rebolledo is a member of Foley Hoag's International Litigation & Arbitration practice. His work focuses on representing States in investment arbitration proceedings under the arbitration rules of the International Center for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID) and the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNICTRAL).
