Foley Hoag Attorney Juan Pablo Hugues to Speak at Mexico's ICC Young Arbitrators Forum

Foley Hoag LLP International Associate Juan Pablo Hugues will speak at Mexico’s International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Young Arbitrators Forum (YAF), being held virtually on Thursday, May 5, 2021. The ICC YAF is open to young arbitrators aged 40 and under, and provides a range of opportunities to gain knowledge, develop skills, build networks and garner a better understanding of ICC’s arbitral procedure and other dispute resolution services.
Hugues will co-present with Dr. Jenifer Alfaro Borges, a partner at Alphabeto Uruguay. They will discuss “The Duty of Reasoning in International Arbitration,” where they will focus on the duty of reasoning in investment arbitration under the ICSID Convention.
As a member of the International Litigation & Arbitration practice in Washington, D.C., Hugues represents sovereign States in international disputes and advises them on public international law, in general. He has experience in a wide range of public international law matters and disputes, including foreign investment, energy and deep-sea mining, law of the sea and environmental law, as well as international security.
