Foley Hoag Attorney Sudhanshu Roy to Present Paper at Fifteenth Annual Investment Treaty Arbitration Conference

May 21, 2021

Foley Hoag LLP international associate Sudhanshu Roy will present a paper at the ongoing Fifteenth Annual Investment Treaty Arbitration organized by JURIS Conferences. Roy's presentation will take place on May 25, 2021, at the event's final session, titled "Focus on Substance v. Dispute Resolution Forum: What is the best way to go about the ISDS Reform Process?"

Roy will present his paper, “Reforming International Investment Law: Why 'Procedure Over Substance' is the Wrong Approach,” in which he argues that reforming the procedural defects of the investor-state dispute settlement system alone is not sufficient to solve the current problems associated with the international investment regime. Roy's presentation will be followed by a roundtable discussion.

At Foley Hoag, Roy's practice focuses on investor-state arbitrations, especially in cases involving the representation of sovereign clients before arbitration panels administered under the ICSID, UNCITRAL, ICC and SIAC Arbitration Rules.

Presented by JURIS Conferences, the Fifteenth Annual Investment Treaty Arbitration is being held as a live webinar series. This year's event tackles four questions in the field of international investment law and arbitration.
