April 19, 2022

Attorneys Chris Mosley and Brooke Yates have joined Foley Hoag LLP as partners in the Litigation Department. Working remotely from Denver, CO, Mosley and Yates will help continue to expand Foley Hoag’s Insurance Recovery practice.

Mosley specializes in representing corporate policyholders in disputes against their insurers and his experience extends to all types of commercial insurance policies in virtually all industries. Throughout his career, Mosley has helped businesses recover hundreds of millions from insurance companies. He has also played a critical role shaping meaningful legislation benefiting corporate policyholders in Colorado.

Yates is a seasoned lawyer representing businesses in the areas of insurance recovery, multi-party commercial litigation and construction throughout the United States and internationally. She represents policyholders in disputes with their insurers in nearly all aspects of insurance coverage.

Both Mosley and Yates consult extensively with companies regarding various insurance needs, including the development of complex insurance programs for specific projects, assisting with insurance-related issues in business transactions, and working with management in evaluating corporate insurance programs.

“Foley Hoag has a tremendous breadth and depth of experience in its Insurance Recovery practice,” said Mosley. “The ability to work with such a strong group of attorneys will allow Brooke and me to expand our reach on a local, regional and national level and serve even more businesses that face significant insurance challenges. In addition, I’m very appreciative of the vision Foley Hoag has developed to make the firm and ultimately the legal industry more diverse and inclusive and the specific actions the firm has taken to achieve that goal.”

“Foley Hoag is a preeminent law firm with an outstanding bench of attorneys,” said Yates. “The firm has made the Insurance Recovery group one of its core practice areas and we’re thrilled to build upon its stellar reputation. By joining this team, Chris and I can continue helping companies solve business challenges while also growing our client base.”

Foley Hoag’s Insurance Recovery practice has successfully pursued claims for clients under commercial general liability, umbrella and excess liability, employment practices liability, professional liability, and directors’ and officers’ liability policies.  The firm also has successfully represented policyholders in connection with “first party” losses under employee dishonesty policies, “all risk” property policies, ocean marine open cargo policies, and precious metals “stock floater” policies. Foley Hoag provides full service assistance on the insurance-related needs of its clients.

“Chris and Brooke both bring considerable experience, diverse skills and experience in the insurance space that will greatly benefit Foley Hoag’s clients in a variety of industries,” said Foley Hoag partner and Insurance Recovery practice Co-Chair, Martin Pentz. “We are pleased to further enhance our practice group with these two leading attorneys.”

Before joining Foley Hoag, Mosley and Yates were both partners at Sherman & Howard LLC in Denver. Mosley earned a Juris Doctorate from the University of California – Los Angeles School of Law. Yates earned a Juris Doctorate from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law.
