Foley Hoag LLP associate Shrutih Tewarie has been appointed to a Vice Chair position for the International Anti-Corruption Committee of the ABA International Law Section, for a year-long term effective August 10, 2020.
The International Anti-Corruption Committee seeks to facilitate efforts to deter corruption and promote transparency, the rule of law and compliance through dialogue and the exchange of ideas across both foreign and domestic industries, organizations, and countries. Members are selected to serve as Vice Chair based on a variety of factors, including demonstrated leadership skills.
In her practice, Tewarie represents clients in cross-border disputes and investigations by various federal agencies including the Departments of Justice, Treasury, State and Commerce and the Securities and Exchange Commission, including matters involving the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act and other anti-corruption regimes. She also helps clients in setting up international operations through advising clients regarding compliance with anti-corruption laws, export control regulations, trade sanctions programs and supply chain due diligence.
